An earthy, spicey, toasty oak on the nose with hints of raspberry, black cherries and earthy mushrooms. On the palate the fruit continues with their rich flavours that linger on a velvety and generous finish.
This Pinot Noir represents the pinnacle of winemaking at Privato. Harvested from 28 year old vines from the Devonshire Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, the grapes for this limited release wine were foot stomped, and whole cluster fermented before aging 18 months in French oak. An earthy, spiced nose opens to ripe raspberry and dark cherry flavours that linger on a velvety and generous finish.
Pinot is well knowned for being an extremely food-friendly wine. This Grande Reserve has rich fruity character and structure. While it would pair wonderfully with Boeuf Bourguignon it is equally elegant with a decadent arugula wood-fired pizza drizzled with creamy sauce.
